| | "Pop!" is heard as a sphere launches into the sky. As the ball rises, a painfully familiar screeching noise causes little children cover their ears in attempt to dull the noise, their eyes never leaving the glowing globe shooting like a rocket through the air. Higher and higher the shinning ball climbs until finally it reaches its climax. The sphere explodes in to hundreds of sparkling lights, each one out shinning the stars. The sparkling eyes of children and adults alike stare in awe of the magical glow. Only seconds later the magic is slowly lifted as the beautiful lights descend back to Earth. A wee bit of Firework poetry there. People were still lighting them off even at 5 in the morning! Crazies..... I guess I should thank them though; their continuous explosions caused me too come up with this. I have no idea how it came out to be so cheerful. If I remember correctly I was quite peeved that the idiots lighting fireworks at 5 AM. "Jeeze other people are trying to sleep, A-holes! Not me, but still!" Woo! It's 2009! OMG! ..... I am I the only one disappointed? Not only did the bonfire (neighborhood tradition) stink to high heaven this year, but the fireworks stinked too! There were very little superfantabulous fireworks this year. Very disappointing. Plus, my next door neighbor's little brother was being a complete idiot with Roman Candles. Now that I think about it ALL the guys were being numbskulls with fireworks that night. What is it with guys and fireworks?! I understand the joy of fire, I myself quite enjoy it (just about the only useful thing I got from Girl Scouts) but what in the world possesses you to light off two Roman Candles at the same time, while standing under a huge oak tree and two power lines? That I don't understand. All in all I'm not thinking 2009 is going to be all that wonderful. America is reaching it's crunch time. My prediction is that we are going to start seeing the true faces of some CEOs and politicians. 2009 is going to be (for lack of a better term) the awkward year. What I mean is: Economists say that the American economy will not be beck on it's feet until at least 2010. Thus making 2009 the cocoon before the butterfly. Well in all hope things will run relatively smoothly (and with no big hurricane!) Let's enjoy the celebration while we can! HAPPY NEW YEAR |
